The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (formerly Perpetual Help College ) is situated on a ten – hectare campus along the provincial highway. It open its door during the school year 1976-1977 with 89 students in the 1 st and 2 nd year in high school, and 376 first year students in the Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Commerce and Secretarial courses. The College of Education and College of Nutrition and Dietetics started operating in Academic Year 1977-1978. A few students enrolled in the teacher education program then, slowly but gradually the population increased to as many as 400 enrolled in the different majors and areas of specialization.

 
There are two Education programs namely: bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) and bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) Both programs were given Government Recognition on November 12, 1985 and June 8, 1990 respectively. Over the years, scholarship and financial grants have also been given by the UPHL and government agencies to deserving students of the college .

    From 1981 to 2008 or with the period of 27 years the college has produced 883 BSE degree holders and 482 BEED degree holders. The Philippines Association of colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACU-COA) accredited the two education programs as Level III accredited. The Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) also accredited the two education programs.
       
     
    The college has a strong international linkage with Yokohama National University . The JOY Program – Junior Year Overseas Program a shot-term student exchange program for undergraduate students interested to experience studying in Japan.

    Our students avail 100% discount for Tuition fee and miscellaneous fee. They are also given a stipend of 80,000 yen a month and 150,000 yen upon arrival.

    Today, the College offers the different majors and areas of specialization in Secondary and Elementary levels. BEED areas of Specialization are Generalist; Pre-School; Special Education and Computer Assisted Instruction. While the BSE major subjects are English; Filipino; Social Studies; Mathematics; Physical Science; Biological Science; Values Education; Physical Education; Health and Music; Library Science and Computer Assisted Instruction. To sustain the needs of teachers in the country and abroad the Education Modular Approach Program (EMAP) has been created. This program is intended for the Non BSE/ED degree holders.

    The College of education is committed to the formation of Christian service and research-oriented Perpetualite teachers with great social concern who outstandingly values the virtues of reaching and helping others as vital ingredients to nation building. The main objective of this program is to produce elementary and secondary teachers with practical knowledge and skills to cope with recent or current issues on school education in today's society.
