UPHSL, PESO Biñan, and DOLE Laguna Partner for LEGS 2026 Career Readiness Seminar

“Your future is not something you wait for, it is something you create. You are ready. You are capable. And you are meant to make a difference.” This was stated by Dr. Josefa G. Carrillo, Director for International and External Affairs, as she formally opened the Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) 2026 last March 30, 2026 at the Performing Ars Theatre of UPHSL).

The LEGS 2026 seminar serves as a vital initiative of the University aimed at equipping graduating students with essential knowledge on labor laws, employment processes, workplace readiness, and professional development. The program highlights the UPHSL’s continued commitment to producing competent, industry-ready graduates prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic and competitive labor market. This is to prepare graduating students to confidently embrace the transition from academic life to the professional world.

Implemented by Student Assistance Office (SAO) – Alumni and Placement Office and International and External Affairs Office (IEAO), the event was conducted in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Biñan and Provincial Office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Laguna.Their leadership and dedication ensured that the program effectively addressed the needs of graduating students as they prepare for employment.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers from key government institutions, including Pag-IBIG, Social Security System (SSS), and PhilHealth, along with other professionals who shared valuable insights on employment benefits, workers’ rights, and career preparation. Their participation provided students with practical knowledge essential for navigating the workforce.

In her message, Dr. Carrillo emphasized that LEGS is more than just a seminar, It is a guiding platform that empowers students to make informed decisions, understand their rights and responsibilities, and develop the confidence needed to succeed in their chosen careers
