Faculty E-Library Virtual Orientation

Despite the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the UPHSL- Main Library has never stopped its services and continued to support the informational needs of the Perpetualite community virtually. Keeping its patrons' learning needs is the top priority of the Library. Thus, the Main Library conducted its Virtual E-library Orientation for the faculty members of different departments of the university, last March 8 – 10, 2021 via google meet. Participants are composed of faculty members from College of Computer Studies, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Education and Criminology, College of International Hospitality of Management, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, Architecture and Aviation, and College of Maritime Studies.



The activity aims to inform the faculty members of the various online resources and services of the library that are beneficial in this time of uncertainties. It also promotes online learning and disseminates accurate reliable information to the academic community to support their teaching and learning needs. Dr. Elizabeth Malabanan, the Director of Libraries demonstrated how to navigate the different Online Resources. She also emphasized that the curriculum resources are accessible in the e-library; this includes open access journals, a list of e-books according to program offerings, open access newspaper and magazines, educational videos for the specific field of expertise, and online research databases. Furthermore, the Access Engineering database was also presented to the faculty of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Aviation. Access Engineering comprises dynamic online features, such as instructional, faculty-made videos, calculators, interactive tables, and charts. The said database was a trial access account provided by the Ce-Logic Company.



This activity highlights that the library will always remain engaged, connected, and committed to supporting the information needs of the Perpetualite community.
