The Community Outreach Department of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna (UPHSL) - Biñan Campus proudly played a central role in the university's participation in the nationwide bloodletting event, "Juan for All: National Blood Letting Activity." Celebrating World Blood Donor's Day, this collaborative effort was spearheaded by JCI Manila International, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, University of Perpetual Help Medical Center – Biñan, and various units of the University of Perpetual Help DALTA and JONELTA systems: UPHSD - Las Piñas, UPHSD - Molino, and UPHSL - Biñan as the activity venues and hosts, with the DALTA JONELTA Foundation, Inc. as the beneficiary/recipient of the bloodletting activity.

Under the leadership of President LTC Richard Antonio M. Tamayo PAFR (GSC) MBA-H CHA FPCHA REB, with Dr. Ma. Consuelo C. Reyes as the lead focal person and Ms. Vrooxel Estiva as the Administrative Head for Support Service, the bloodletting activity aimed to provide significant healthcare support within the community. The DALTA JONELTA Foundation, Inc. will receive ten percent (10%) of the total blood donors' count, distributed as FREE BLOOD CARDS to benefit the foundation’s recipients. This initiative exemplifies our dedication to impacting healthcare positively and providing essential blood support to those in need within our community.

At UPHSL - Biñan Campus, the simultaneous bloodletting activity took place at the Performing Arts Theatre. Dr. Josefa G. Carrillo, Director for International and External Affairs, coordinated the event with guidance from the Executive School Director, Dr. Ferdinand C. Somido. Blood donors were students from the colleges of Maritime Education, Aviation, and Criminology, reflecting a strong commitment to community service.

The "Juan for All" blood donation campaign sought to raise awareness among students about the critical importance of donating blood, offering them an opportunity to engage in meaningful community service. This initiative fosters empathy and a sense of responsibility towards society. By actively participating in blood donation, students not only contribute to saving lives but also gain firsthand experience in humanitarian efforts. This underscores the institution's persistent commitment to charitable endeavors and community service, significantly benefiting those who rely on blood donations for medical treatment and emergencies.

Blood donations collected during the event are expected to play a crucial role in supporting the lifesaving initiatives of the Philippine Red Cross, ensuring adequate blood supplies for medical emergencies and treatments. Additionally, these donations will directly benefit the recipients supported by the DALTA JONELTA Foundation, Inc., providing essential blood support to those in need within the community. This collective effort emphasizes the event's broader humanitarian impact, demonstrating unity in addressing healthcare challenges and enhancing the well-being of individuals who depend on timely and sufficient blood donations.

UPHSL-Biñan Campus's participation in this national bloodletting activity not only demonstrated its commitment to public service but also exemplified how educational institutions can significantly contribute to fostering social responsibility and empathy. As the event concluded, a sense of pride and optimism prevailed, with anticipation for future initiatives that will further enhance our community's well-being. Through these collective efforts, we, as Perpetualites, can truly make a difference.
