UPHSL Programs Receive Positive PACUCOA Accreditation Recommendation

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna continues to strengthen its commitment to quality education as several of its academic programs received favorable recommendations from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The accreditation visit was held on March 13–14, 2026 at the University Performing Arts Theater, where faculty members, administrators, and staff gathered to witness the presentation of the initial findings and recommendations of the accreditation team.

Following a thorough evaluation of the university’s programs, PACUCOA recommended the Elementary and Junior High School programs for Level III 3rd Reaccreditation. This recognition reflects the institution’s consistent efforts to uphold high standards in basic education, ensuring that learners receive holistic formation, quality instruction, and a supportive academic environment that nurtures both academic excellence and character development.

Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering programs were recommended for Level III Accreditation. This recommendation highlights the strength of these programs in terms of curriculum, faculty qualifications, instructional facilities, research initiatives, and community engagement. It also recognizes the programs’ dedication to preparing students to become competent professionals who can contribute meaningfully to their respective fields.

In addition, the Senior High School program and several graduate programs were recommended for Level II Reaccreditation. This recommendation affirms the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance its academic offerings, strengthen its instructional practices, and continuously improve the quality of education provided to its students.

The accreditation visit was led by PACUCOA Chairman and Team Chair Dr. Dante Salva, together with a distinguished team of accreditors composed of Ms. Junna Bulay, Ms. Cristina Sagum, Dr. Greg Belongilot, Dr. Noli Valera, Ms. Reina Flor Castro, Dr. Erlito Albina, Dr. Ma. Kathleen Tiglao, Dean Winnie Cancejo, Dr. Maria Frieda Hapan, Ms. Corazon Nera, Dr. Felixberto Mercado, and Dr. Melanie Florentino. Over the two-day visit, the team carefully reviewed documents, evaluated facilities, and conducted meetings with university officials, faculty members, and support staff to assess the institution’s compliance with PACUCOA’s quality standards.

The positive recommendations given to these programs serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Perpetualite community. From administrators and faculty members to students and support personnel, the collective effort to uphold academic excellence and continuous improvement has contributed greatly to the university’s success in the accreditation process.
